Keynote Speaker: Fred Joyal

Fred Joyal is Founder of 1-800-DENTIST and author of Everything is Marketing: The Ultimate Strategy for Dental Practice Growth.  As the industry's foremost expert on dental consumer marketing, Fred has lectured at dental tradeshows nationwide and is a regular contributor to various print and online publications. In addition, he has written over 200 television and radio commercials and interacted with thousands of the most successful dentists across the country. Hisham Abdalla

Dr. Hisham Abdalla is the first multiple laser dentist in New Zealand and one of the first in Australasia to teach and evolve this technology to enhance dentistry. Dr. Abdalla is an invited Associate Professor at Cagliari University in Sardinia, Italy and an affiliate member of the American Dental Association. He is an internationally respected speaker, author and educator in the fields of Laser dentistry, Minimally Invasive, High-tech dentistry and Cosmetic dentistry. He is the accredited course provider and examiner for The Queensland University Laser Certification program, by Professor Laurie Walsh. Dentists, specialists, professors and colleagues travel from the USA, UK, Australia and all over New Zealand to attend seminars & live trainings by Hisham at his state-of-the-art facility. Many have returned to have their own treatment done by him. Dr. Hisham is known for his pioneering ideas, strong motivation and passion for research and knowledge. He has been nominated by his colleagues at the Auckland Dental Association for NZDA Young Dentist of the Year in 2005. In 2006 he represented New Zealand as a finalist at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Young Lecturer of the Year Award - a prestigious international award. Other recognitions include a Fellowship and Diplomat status from the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He served as a past Directors Board member of the organization in the USA. He is a founding member of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, founding member and past Vice President of the NZ Institute of Minimal Intervention Dentistry, Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute and member of the Auckland and New Zealand Dental Associations. Dr. Hisham is an international citizen who has chosen Auckland to be home. He graduated with honors from Charles University in Prague in 1998 as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Mike Barr, DDS

Dr. Mike Barr graduated from the University of Tennessee College Of Dentistry in 1988. He practices in Boynton Beach, Florida. His clinical training includes over 2000 hours of CE with a focus on Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. He was previously a clinical instructor for porcelain veneers and smile design with the Rosenthal Institute and currently lectures at the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic in Palm Beach. Henry Evans, DDS

Dr. Henry (Bud) Evans graduated from the University of Idaho in 1973 and Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1976 practice in After nearly four years with the Indian Health Service in North Dakota and Alaska, Dr. Bud started his practice in Chewelah in 1980. Both he and his wife, Diane, of 35 years have raised two children, Ben and Maggie in Chewelah. Since moving to Chewelah, Dr. Evans has earned a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and has logged over 4000 hours of continuing education, with emphasis in periodontics, crown and bridge reconstruction, occlusion, and smile rehabilitation and enhancement. His office and state of the art equipment reflect a passion for excellence and caring.





Graeme Milicich

Dr. Graeme Milicich lives in Hamilton, New Zealand. He lectures internationally in the fields of minimal intervention, caries risk assessment and management, minimal intervention restorative techniques, on the physics, and clinical applications of hard-soft tissue lasers, and E4D CADCAM technology. He is a Fellow, Diplomate and founding board member of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (WCMID). He is also a Fellow, Master and board member of the World Clinical Laser Institute, and a founding Board member and honorary lifetime member of the NZ Institute of Minimal Intervention Dentistry. He is the recipient of both the WCMID Clinician of the Year Award, and the WCMID Clinical Research Award. Dr. Milicich has conducted research on the physics of Er:Cr:YSGG laser hard tissue ablation and associated clinical applications, and has published in the fields of Minimal Intervention Dentistry. He has produced educational CDs covering minimal intervention and restorative techniques, caries risk assessment, diagnosis and management, posterior composites, and clinical applications of the Er:Cr:YSGG laser. He is also a trainer and educator for the E4D CAD/CAM system.





Bryan Nový, DDS

At LLUSD Dr. Bryan Nový teaches a variety of courses including caries management, research design, evidence-based dentistry, dental materials, and operative dentistry. He maintains a private practice in Valencia, California and acts as clinical director for three non-profit dental clinics in Southern California. In his spare time he serves as vice president of the Foundation for Worldwide Health (an NGO dedicated to improving professional healthcare education in developing countries). Dr. Nový lectures extensively throughout the world on dental materials and advances in the science of dental caries. His research interests focus on the predictive quality of saliva analysis as well as microbiological assessments. Recently Dr. Nový had the honor of presenting at the World Health Organization's Global Conference on Health in Geneva, Switzerland, sponsored by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.





Patricia Pine, RDH

Patricia Pine who is deeply committed to health and safety, founded "U"nique Dental Organizational Services in 2001. A graduate of Wm. Rainey Harper College in IL, she excelled in her dental hygiene studies, receiving the coveted "Golden Scaler" award. Pat has continued to maintain those high standards of excellence and dedication to the profession and to the community at large through continued professional education. She became an OSHA uthorized Provider after completing their "Train-the-Trainer" course, focusing on safety and health issues. Maintaining membership in OSAP (The Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures) and participating in their intensive annual Symposiums, enables Pat to remain on the cutting edge of infection control issues. Her courses, “Fine Tuning Your Infection Control Techniques” and “Money Saving=Wellness Infection Control” reflect her commitment to the dental community. Pat has recently relocated to Arizona where she continues to perform comprehensive preventive and therapeutic hygiene services. As part of her respect for people she cares for, Pat obtained her local anesthetic certification allowing her to deliver quality care in a compassionate manner. Her courses are designed with each unique office and group in mind.





Janet Press, RDH

Janet Press is a Dental Health Futurist, Consultant, and Coach. Robert Supple, DMD

Dr. Robert Supple has developed the latest method of TScan II Analysis (Habitual Force Pattern Analysis). He has presented on HFPA at the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Annual Meeting 2005 and at the BioRESEARCH Annual Conference in 2006. Robert Supple, DMD graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1980. He has been a member of The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, since 2004. Dr. Supple maintains a private practice in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Supple has developed the latest method of T-Scan II Analysis (Habitual Force Pattern Analysis). He has presented on HFPA at the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Annual Meeting 2005, The Dawson Annual Meeting in 2006, and at the BioRESEARCH Annual Conference in 2006. Every patient has a unique Habitual Force Pattern (HFP) that travels across the occlusion during function. This course will show how HFP Analysis can improve your ability to understand the relationship between Joints, Muscles, and Teeth. HFP Analysis organizes all force contacts, intensity direction and sequence. HFP Analysis is helpful in the diagnosis and prevention of a habitual Envelope of Dysfunction that accelerates anatomic pathology.





Beth Thompson, RDH

Beth Thompson recently established the Florida Institute of Orofacial Myology, LLC, a clinic and learning center for health care providers in Port Orange, FL. Beth provides industry consulting services, Continuing Education prrgrams, Corporate Recruiting and Placement, and was the Editor in Chief for Contemporary Oral Hygiene for over six years. Her career has been multifaceted including clinical dental therapy, dental education, sales and marketing management, speaking internationally, writing and consulting. She is a graduate of Indiana University, and Past President of the Indiana Dental Hygienist's Association. Beth is a Fellow in the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics and serves on their advisory board. Beth has written and presented dental continuing education courses for the past 29 years. Through out Beth’s career, her leadership and innovative talents have been recognized as she was selected by Scherer Laboratories to be one of the first dental hygiene sales representatives in the industry, she then in turn recruited and trained the first ever dental hygiene sales force, taking the product line to number one in less than two years. She teamed with the John O. Butler Company as Director of Dental Education, initiated the sonicare sales force for Optiva Corporation, creating yet another industry leader in oral care, and serves as an educational consultant for numerous dental manufacturers designing educational and marketing solutions for new diagnosis and treatment products. Beth is the director and founder of CareerFusion, LLC, formerly CareerFlow, the 1st and only resource for dental hygiene career advancement. Her numerous years of varied successful experiences will now be shared with those interested in pursuing new non traditional career directions within health care, based on their educational and professional experiences. CareerFusion, LLC not only includes training resources and retreats, but offers employment and career placement services as well. Clinical practice has remained stimulating for Beth as non surgical perio treatment protocols have become the standard of practice and therapeutic advancements have allowed for individualized care delivery with predictable successful results.
